Booking for all workshops, recitals, concerts, plays and seminars will be taken from Monday 20th June at the Festival Booking Office, River House, Main Street, Monasterevin, from 2.00pm – 4.00pm

Places to many of the events are very limited and will be booked on a first come first served basis. All bookings must be paid for in advance.

Children’s Cookery with Cora 18th, 19th & 20th July

This is a 3- day cookery summer-school suitable for children age between 10 – 12 years only The cookery classes will be interactive and focus on cooking for nutrition and enjoyment. The classes include the supply of all ingredients, lunch for the children, copies of the recipes and some take-home treats from the summer-school. Max number 10 per class.

A 4 Day- Course in Drawing and Related Media with Ray Murphy Artist Emo Court

“The Contemporary Art Movement has by and large relegated drawing and painting to the margins! Drawing in particular has suffered as much new ART is concept based, whose basic tools are space (as in the gallery) laptops and digital cameras. Drawing may have been lost to cutting edge contemporary Art but to me remains a very important vehicle towards self expression.
To develop an ability to draw is a wonderful thing and hopefully this course may re-introduce this facility for you” Ray Murphy Artist

The Kayaking Summer-school is open to all ages and will provide lessons for beginners and intermediate levels.Kayaks and Safety Wear will be provided but if you have your own kayak and or wet gear please bring along to your dedicated class.

Cookery Classes for Adults 18th, 19th & 20th

This 3-day cookery course will show you how to shop, prepare and cook
5 meals for €50 and encourages planning ahead as one of the best ways to have a healthy diet which is: to prepare our own food.
“Where possible I try to choose produce in season and from the region, as well as being value for money the food tastes better and is more nutritious” says Emma Hollindrake -
The workshop will also include seasonal salads and desserts recipes.
Classes will be part demonstration with tasting and part hands on.Ingredients and recipe booklets are included and it’s very likely that a few good meals will be on the take home list!

Guide to Local History Research. 19th & 20th

"If I were you". The objective is for participants to be able to recreate alternative personae of themselves, working very closely on development of personal traits, language etc.
No experience is necessary just bring along your pen and paper! and have a creative few days during this summer.

"Monster's Heaven" a 2 part workshop suitable for children aged 9 years to 14 years.
This workshop will focus on stretching the imagination to new boundaries of possibility and fun working on rewriting the place names and inhabitants of their local town.

 

Carnival Costume Creation Workshop by Artastic Street Theatre

Students at this Venetian Theme Worhshop will be part of the street performance at the Festival Carnival on Sunday 24th July. the 3 day Workshop will be held on Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday 18th, 19th & 20th July at Scoil Eimhin Naofa, Time 11am- 5pm daily.
