A Mid Summer Celebration Evening : Cookery Demo

"The Voice" will sing in Moore Abbey

eQEimear Quinn, the winner of the1996 Eurovision Song Contest, will fill the Baronial Hall in Moore Abbey  on  Sunday  July 24 in  the  Venice  of  Ireland   Festival  Grand   Finale  Concert. Eimear’s  ethereal voice  first   enthralled  the  world   when  she  won  the   Eurovision  Song  Contest  in  1996  singing  Brendan  Graham’s  composition “The  Voice”.


Eimear Quinn, the winner of the1996 Eurovision Song Contest, will fill the Baronial Hall in Moore Abbey on Sunday July 24 in the Venice of Ireland Festival Grand Finale Concert. Eimear’s ethereal voice first enthralled the world when she won the Eurovision Song Contest in 1996 singing Brendan Graham’s composition “The Voice”. She will be joined in concert with Box and Bow with String Quartet. This will prove to be a memorable event and it will reflect the high standards of entertainment of the Venice of Ireland organising committee. Eimear has been very much in the news of late and as recently as May 19 she entertained Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth on her visit to Ireland. To celebrate the monarch’s visit Eimear was one of the guest artists at a gala concert in the Convention Centre, Dublin. She joined an All Irish cast which included The Chieftains, Westlife, Riverdance and Mary Byrne in a celebration of Irish music, dance and culture. The Convention Centre was packed for the event which was broadcast nationwide. Eimear, accompanied by the RTE National Symphony Concert Orchestra performed Sean O Riada’s “Mna na hEireann” to a standing ovation. She was later presented to Queen Elizabeth. Eimear has set up her own website and for the first time all her albums and lyrics are available on one website which is www.eimearquinn.com/ This will be a concert not to be missed and tickets at €20.00 are at a premium and are available from the Festival booking office. Tickets are limited and are on a first come first served basis. County Kildare Orchestra Moore Abbey’s Baronial Hall will also be the venue on Saturday, July 23 when the acclaimed County Kildare Orchestra will be in concert. Their programme will feature a selection of orchestral highlights which are guarantee to entertain and delight any discerning audience. This year the County Kildare Orchestra is celebrating its 12th year and musical Director, Ite O’Donovan said this week that they were delighted to be invited back to Monasterevan again this year. “The Orchestra very much enjoyed performing in the magnificent Baronial Hall last year and we consider it a great privilege and honour to be invited back and we very much appreciate the support of the Venice of Ireland Festival Committee” Ite added.
